Rauw Alejandro
Raul Alejandro Ruiz Ocasio Ruiz, born January 10, 1993, is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter. He has been dubbed the "King of Modern Reggaeton".[2][3] He belongs to the "new generation" of Puerto Rican musicians. His debut album, Afrodisiaco was released in November of 2020. Vice Versa is his second studio album, was released in June of 2021. It included the lead song "Todo de Ti". From twelve nominations, he has received two Latin Grammy Awards. Raul Alejandro Ruiz was born on January 10 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. [4][5] His father Raul Ocasio Ruiz played guitar and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz was his backing vocalist. They introduced him to the music of Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. Alejandro and his father resided for many years in the United States. They mainly settled in New York City and Miami. Alejandro and Anuel A.A., a colleague of Puerto Rican rapper are childhood close friends. They attended the same school together and shared classes. In the early years of their lives, Alejandro competed in school talent shows since he has an obsession with dancing. He attended the University of Puerto Rico after having graduated from high school. At the age of six until the age of twenty and played soccer but he quit after deciding that he "could not do what he expected to" and suffered an injury at the age of 20. He relocated to Orlando, Florida to attempt to be scouted in the Premier Development League (PDL) and was ultimately unsuccessful. Rauw Alejandro's style of music is Latin R&B and reggaeton. Also, he enjoys the rhythmic pop and ballads. Billboard said that his music has "set him apart" from the burgeoning group of Reggaetoneros who lean towards pop. Presley as well as Jackson were influential early on. He was also influenced later by Ricky Martin and Daddy Yankee. [24He also cites Ciara as his musical inspiration.
