
Allison Brooks Janney, born on 19 November 1959 in the United States is an American actress. It is well-known for her performance across many categories on screen and stage during her career of three decades. Janney has been awarded numerous awards like an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, an Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, in the midst of nominations for the two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston as a child, but was raised on the streets of Dayton (Ohio). The actress got a grant to studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Janney became a television star in 1999, playing C. J. Cregg in the role of C. J. Cregg in NBC's drama series The West Wing (2000-2006). In the course of her work, she won Four Primetime Emmy Awards for this performance.
